• September Workshops

Hi everyone, it is hard to believe we are nearly at the end of term 3. We have some exciting workshops coming up in the holidays. Can you please comment if your child is interested so we can gauge numbers please. The last holiday workshops were a hit and we hope students will embrace these again. Thanks Gemma Shield for helping to organise this:)

  • Online Class Guide for ZOOM

Hi Mill Streeters. Here is a link to a PDF to get you started with your online access to classes. Be aware that we are loading all meeting links into each class, so if you don’t see the little red camera icon, please don’t stress. It will appear over the next day or so. Let us know if you have any problems with accessing and we will help.

  • IMPORTANT Coronavirus COVID-19 Update.

    Dear Mill Street Family,

In light of the new government regulations that came into effect today, we will move our classes to an online platform called Zoom. The CSTD (Comdance) has made some recommendations, giving us reassurance that this is the appropriate step to take. This is going to take some trial and error and your patience will be very much appreciated while the transition process occurs. We are starting classes in Zoom this week, (from today) and will email you all shortly with more class specific information.

    Kind regards
Claire and the Mill Street Studios team

  • Welcome Miss Alex !

INTRODUCING our Tuesday classical exam teacher, Miss Alex Lee. Alex shadowed Miss Parker last year at BPA Studio when Miss Parker was away examining (Keeping our teachers “in the family” so to speak) Miss Parker will be taking occasional workshops at Mill Street still as we value her so MUCH!

We are delighted to have Alex on board, who has been working closely with Miss Parker in classical syllabus exams.

Read more about Miss Alex here:

Alex Lee has been dancing for many years and her passion for dance has only grown over time. Most of her training has been at Beverly Parker Academy of Dance where she has been trained in the CSTD syllabi Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary and has done exams in all four syllabi.

In her exams, Alex has completed up to and including Advanced Ballet, Jazz 8, Advanced Gold Bar Tap, and Contemporary 4. In addition to this Alex has also trained in Musical Theatre, Lyrical and Hip Hop.

Alex holds a CSTD Teachers Certificate in Modern Jazz and is working towards achieving the full Diploma by the end of this year. Graduating from QUT with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Alex is going back this year to start a Master of Teaching (Secondary) in Dance and History.

Alex has a love of teaching and aspires to inspire those who share her love of dance.

  • Bring a friend to dance
In week 2 (10th to the 16th of February) we are having “Bring a friend to dance” week. As the name suggests, students are welcome to bring a friend along (can be a different friend every day) to join in on class and see what all this great dance is about. We encourage students to think about who they might like to bring along to join in and enjoy this free dancing experience at Mill Street Studios. Adult singing and DM101 are welcome to bring a friend also.
